Riva Margolis, Brett Hayden – The New York Times


Riva Rose Margolis and Dr. Brett Laurence Hayden were married Feb. 11 at Tribeca Rooftop, an event space in Manhattan. Rabbi Lester Bronstein led the ceremony.

Mrs. Hayden, 29, is pursuing an M.B.A. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Until last September she worked in the Boston office of Deloitte, a professional services company, as the manager of global corporate development. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell.

She is a daughter of Caryn G. Margolis and Jeffrey A. Margolis of Scarsdale, N.Y. The bride’s father is the founder and principal of a law firm bearing his name in Manhattan, and an adjunct professor of real estate law at Brooklyn Law School. Her mother teaches science at Edgemont Junior-Senior High School in Scarsdale.

Dr. Hayden, also 29, is a fourth-year resident in orthopedic surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He graduated from N.Y.U. and received a medical degree from Albany Medical College.

He is a son of Fern J. Hayden and Steven Z. Hayden of Clifton Park, N.Y. The groom’s mother is a claims manager at Travelers Insurance in Albany and the president of Congregation Beth Shalom in Clifton Park. His father retired as a principal engineer at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, a research and development facility in Niskayuna, N.Y.

The couple met in February 2011 at a party in Manhattan.
