Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Drake appears to be extremely serious about improving his acumen on the basketball court. As it turns out, it’s not all about talking smack from the sidelines for the Toronto Raptors brand ambassador, as he also seems to have a genuine desire to continue working on his own game.
Recently, a video clip featuring Drake and a vastly improved shooting stroke has been making its rounds on social media. In the brief highlight reel, the 32-year-old rapper is seen cleanly draining basket after basket in a pretty impressive fashion.
This video comes courtesy of renowned shooting coach, lethalshooter (aka Chris Matthews in real life), who has worked with a ton of NBA players over the years. According to his bio on his website, he is the “most sought-after shooting coach in the world.” Just this summer, Matthews has worked with the likes of Hassan Whiteside, Dwight Howard, and Kyle Kuzma, to name a few, helping all of them with their shooting touch for the upcoming campaign.
For his part, we should expect Drake to carry on with his courtside antics for Toronto this coming season. Drake and the Raptors will be entering the new campaign as the NBA’s defending champs, so the outspoken hip-hop mogul’s smack talking will definitely be at a championship level this year.
However, with the summer departure of reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, Toronto’s chances of defending their crown took a significant hit. Nevertheless, they are still considered as one of the more formidable sides in the East, so as it stands, Drake’s reign appears to be far from over.
