When Ben & Jerry’s news comes about, you expect it to involve ice cream. This time around is no different, but at the same time, it is. Let us explain. The ice cream brand has partnered with Nike to create a sneaker inspired by its Chunky Monkey pint, dubbed Chunky Dunky.
Ben & Jerry’s pint of Chunky Monkey is made of banana ice cream with fudge chunks and walnuts. To create the sneakers, they used colors and textures from the ice cream. So you can expect yellow detailing, like the iconic Nike swoosh that looks like it’s melting like ice cream. The sneakers are Nike SB, which are among the brand’s most popular styles, as if you didn’t want them badly enough.
“When we first started talking to our friends at Ben & Jerry’s, we knew we wanted to do something fun,” the Nike description says. “From the hairy, cow-print leather overlays, to the puffy clouds on the heel, to the drippy swoosh, every piece of the Chunky Dunky is full of the playful spirit that the folks at Ben & Jerry’s have been bringing to their ice cream since 1978.”
You can get a pair of Chunky Dunky sneakers at select Nike SB retailers around the world on May 23. They’ll also be available on the SNEAKRS app on May 26. Each pair is $100 and comes in a red, yellow, green, and blue box. There are only so many to go around. We’d even go so far to say that you should set an alarm to up your chances of getting your hands on the special-edition shoes.
We all love ice cream, and we all love sneakers, right? We can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t want a pair of these Nike SB sneakers.
