Nueces County officials reported three COVID-19 related deaths and 80 new cases Monday afternoon.
The new counts bring the county total to 17,124 COVID-19 cases and 290 COVID-19 related deaths.
Three women ranging in their 60s, 70s and 90s died after contracting the virus, county health officials announced Monday. Their underlying health issues included hypertension, coronary artery disease and diabetes, according to a news release.
Of the new cases, 58 were confirmed positive and 22 were probable positives. All new cases were under investigation Monday afternoon.
As of Monday, 230 people were in the hospital receiving treatment for the virus hospital, 87 were in intensive care, the county reported.
The county also reported 8,234 people had recovered from the virus.

*The number of people recovered will not be subtracted from the total number of cases, officials have said.
