An Edmonton registered massage therapist has been charged with sexual assault after two women complained about being groped.
City police said in a Friday news release the two incidents happened at a health-care clinic in the city’s west side over the summer. The first involved a 22-year-old woman who visited the clinic on June 25. Police said the woman’s breasts were massaged without consent.
A 30-year-old woman reported a similar incident on July 23 at the same clinic. Police said the woman’s breasts were groped and the masseur was close to her groin area during the session without her consent.
Both women reported their concerns to the clinic and then to police.
Police have charged Jose Martinez, 28, with two counts of sexual assault. His licence has since been suspended.
