$1700 Donated to the family of six-year-old girl to aid in medical travel

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – During the month of November, members of the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office participated in ‘No Shave November,’ (a movement to promote men’s health). In order to participate Sheriff’s Office employees were asked to contribute a minimum of $10.00 towards a cancer research awareness project, or a recipient family in need of assistance due to a cancer-related illness.

This year members of the KCSO chose to help Azella Lopez, a six-year-old girl recently diagnosed with Leukemia and Diabetes. Azella will need to regularly travel to Medford and Portland for treatment for the next couple of years.

The KCSO’s ‘No Shave November’ raised $351 with additional contributions from members of $886 and a $500 donation from the Klamath County Peace Officers Association.

On December 22, 2020, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office employees presented $1,737 to Azella and her family.
