Two men wounded by gunfire in Clearwater

CLEARWATER — Two men were wounded by gunfire on Saturday evening and one suffered critical injuries, according to the Clearwater Police Department.

The incident took place just after 7 p.m. Both men were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg hospital with gunshot wounds, police said. One of the men’s wounds was described as life-threatening.

Police are investigating two different scenes about a mile apart, one at the intersection of Cleveland Street and S Highland Avenue and the other in the 1300 block of Parkwood Street, in a residential neighborhood off N Betty Lane.

Police did not release any other details about the shooting, or the names of the two wounded men.
